EU: Barley crop of 55 mln tonnes expected to be virtually unchanged from last year

The final EU-27 barley crop figure should be around 55 mln tonnes, virtually unchanged from last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in its September report.

Spain harvested a record barley crop of 11.4- 11.5 mln tonnes, the French crop is 2.5 mln tonnes lower than last year.

The EU-27 overall grain crop will reach 276 - 278 mln tonnes, 10 mln tonnes less than in 2019. The U.K. total is 19 mln tonnes, down 6 mln tonnes, the analysts said.
